Public Events

Evening concerts at Forte | Piano 2025 are free and open to all — no registration required. Join us for four nights of music featuring world-class artists and rare historical instruments. 

Concerts run from 7:30PM to 9:30PM in Kiplinger Theater at the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis — no tickets or reservations needed.

Tuesday, August 5: Opening Concert

Cellist David Hardy and fortepianist Lambert Orkis perform intimate works by Brahms and Schumann, followed by Karim Sulayman, tenor, and Yi-heng Yang, fortepiano, in an expressive set of Schubert Lieder.

Wednesday, August 6: Concert of Emerging Performers

Fortepianist Anthony Bonamici performs John Knowles Paine’s Sonata in A minor, Op. 1 (1859). Duo CPE — soprano Andréa Walker and fortepianist Mikhail Grazhdanov — present a selection of Joseph Haydn’s vocal and solo piano works, including The Mermaid’s Song, Arianna a Naxos, and the Fantasia in C major.

Friday, August 7: Beethoven’s Grande Fugue and Beyond

A rare performance of Beethoven’s own four-hand fortepiano arrangement of the Grande Fugue, played by Tom Beghin and Luca Montebugnoli, alongside works by Schubert performed by David Breitman, with additional performances by Petra Somlai and Tuija Hakkila.

Saturday, August 8: Works by Women Composers

An evening of powerful and lyrical chamber works by women composers Jane Mary Guest (c.1762-1836), Emilie Mayer (1812-1883), and Louise Farrenc (1804-1875), performed by Yi-heng Yang, Aisslinn Nosky, Gesa Kordes, Stephanie Vial, Heather Miller Lardin, and Andrew Willis.
