The Cornell Center for Historical Keyboards invites you to a “Trans-Atlantic Evening of Song” with baritone Jean Bernard Cerin and pianist Xak Bjerken, this Friday September 1st at 5pm at the A. D. White House.

The first Salon in the CCHK’s Fall 2023 series, the program explores the German ‘Liederabend,’ moving from works by German and Austrian composers including Robert Schumann’s Dichterliebe, to 20th-century settings of German poetry by Black American composer Robert Owens and culminating with German Haitian composer Werner Jaegerhuber’s music for the salon in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and its echoes in Brazil.

The event is free and open to the public.
