[postponed to May 8] March 11: Cornell faculty organist, Annette Richards presents “Rrrrrrrrr”

Playful and experimental, 20th-century Argentine-German composer Mauricio Kagel’s “Rrrrrr” Suite for Organ consists of 8 short movements, each inspired by a name, or musical term, or organ stop (or whatever…) beginning with the letter ‘R’. In this exploration of the versatility and humorous potential of the Anabel Taylor organ, Annette Richards juxtaposes Kagel’s “Rrrrr” with her own choice of “Rrrrr” pieces, including J. A. Reincken’s “Nightingale,” N. A. Strungk’s Ricercar on the death of his beloved mother, and Ritornelli by J. S. Bach, in the form of his transcription of Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Violins in A minor.

Join us on Tuesday, March 11th at Anabel Taylor Chapel at 7:30pm. This event has been postponed to May 8.
