December 13: Historical Keyboarding in Action

At 5 pm this Friday, December 13th, at the historic A.D. White House, Isaac Dorio, Federico Ercoli, Ariel Mo, and Matías de Roux present research they have pursued over the course of “Historical Keyboarding,” a seminar taught by CCHK director Roger Moseley this semester. The salon will include music by Jan Ladislav Dussek, Robert Schumann, and Johannes Brahms played on Regier-Graf and Steinway pianos. It will also feature an introduction to the unique Moog-Rothenberg keyboard, which boasts 478 keys, and the performance of movements from a classical-style sonata devised by Moseley (on the CCHK’s Wolf-Schantz fortepiano) and Cornell violin professor Ariana Kim.

The salon will last just over an hour and will be followed by a light reception, to which all are invited.

This event is co-sponsored by The Society for Humanities.
